Monica Sage

I am a native of South Bend, Indiana.  I am a wife, mother, grandmother, cancer survivor, volunteer, avid reader, golfer, a cook with desires to be a chef, a curious traveler and a passionate  painter.  

While I have been painting since I was in high school, I realized my ultimate dream as a full-time painter after a diverse and extremely rewarding career.  I spent time as a district manager for a large corporation, a small business owner, a real estate agent and a decorator. It was important to me to give back to my community through volunteer opportunities, two of which included time as a Court –Appointed Special Advocate (CASA—the voice for children in the foster care system) as well as serving on the Board of the Indiana and Michigan American Cancer Society.

I paint primarily using acrylics.   My paintings are usually done in bright colors but, like most artists, I have had my “dark” periods.   My painting  reflects  not only my moods, but also my interpretation of the many places I have seen in my travels.  For example, in “Landscapes,” you will see several paintings that depict small towns in Europe.

My gallery called “Faces” includes many women and a few men.   These faces are not meant to be portraits, but compilations of the complex personality characteristics of people we all know.

In “Still Life and Flowers,” I allow my imagination to take over and I hope you enjoy my rainbow bouquets and happy fish.
